Today we welcome two wonderful people to the podcast today who are doing some truly important work right here in Gwinnett County. Special Kneads and Treats, Inc. in Lawrenceville is a nonprofit bakery creating meaningful employment, training, confidence, and community for adults with special needs. Their mission also includes Cakes for Kiddos, providing free birthday cakes to children and families who otherwise may not be able to afford one. Brightside Cafe and the Brightside Forever Foundation in Buford are creating employment opportunities for adults with special abilities while helping other businesses understand the value of building more inclusive workplaces. Their work is centered around giving people opportunities for independence, purpose, and belonging. These are the kinds of stories I love getting to share. Two organizations finding creative ways to serve people, strengthen families, and make our community a better place. I’m grateful they joined me today, and I can’t wait for you to hear their stories.
